Supporting Your
Adolescent Journey
Being a teenager can feel overwhelming. There’s pressure from school, friends, family, social media — and sometimes it feels like no one really gets what you’re going through. Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to explain yourself over and over. A place where you can just show up as you are.
I’ve been working with teens since 2012, and I genuinely love it. I connect well with teens who feel misunderstood, shut down, frustrated, or even skeptical about therapy. I’ve supported teens navigating high-risk behaviors, big transitions, resistance to counseling, and stepping down from higher levels of care. Most importantly, I offer a space where teens can talk honestly, figure themselves out, and build real-life tools that actually help.
Adolescence is a huge transition — you’re not a kid anymore, but you’re not fully an adult either. That in-between space can feel confusing and intense. My role is to help teens feel more confident, grounded, and capable as they move toward adulthood.
For parents: Trust and confidentiality are essential for therapy to work. Teens need to know they have a private space to speak openly. While I don’t share the details of every session, I maintain regular check-ins with parents to discuss themes, progress, and goals. If safety concerns arise, I will always involve you promptly and work together to determine the best next steps.
