Working With Families
When relationships feel strained, tense, or stuck in constant conflict, it can impact everyone. Whether you’re a couple caught in painful patterns, a family navigating high stress, or parents trying to support a struggling teen or young adult, these moments can feel overwhelming and high-stakes.
I specialize in high-conflict relationships and trauma. That means I understand how quickly conversations can escalate, how protective everyone becomes, and how exhausting it is to feel like you’re always reacting instead of connecting. Beneath conflict, there is almost always hurt, fear, and disconnection. Our work focuses on slowing things down, increasing safety in communication, and helping each person feel heard without intensifying the cycle.
I frequently work with families who have been involved in higher levels of care — or who are trying to prevent the need for more intensive treatment. These situations often come with urgency, fear, and burnout. My role is to provide structure, clarity, and steadiness during times that feel chaotic. We work toward practical tools, clearer boundaries, healthier communication, and a more grounded family system.
For couples, this means untangling reactive patterns and rebuilding trust.
For families, it means shifting from crisis-driven dynamics to more stable and supportive interactions.
For parents, it means strengthening leadership, setting effective boundaries, and responding in ways that de-escalate rather than inflame.
This work is direct, compassionate, and collaborative. I don’t take sides — I help families understand each other better, reduce blame, and move toward real, sustainable change.
Even in high-conflict or high-stress situations, growth is possible. With the right support, families can move from constant tension toward greater clarity, connection, and confidence.
